Designed to be worn across the body, gender neutral. Inspired by First Nation Canadian Art. Made from raw fleece of given Jacob, Hebridean and Whiteface Woodland sheep. Constructed in a single piece of felt, worked until really tough. Remains in use.

Hand formed & felted Herdwick fleece exterior with soft yellow Merino interior. Wool vessel named from the inspiration of young birds with open yellow beaks, asking to be fed. This piece pushes the boundaries of what are possible in hand felt vessel construction skills. The body’s volume & the narrowness and length of the neck are challenging to achieve

Experimental piece worked with very lightly felted 100% Mohair wool. Stitched from the inside then filled with wool. Completed with stiffened merino “leaf”.

Formed from raw Hebridean fleece and decorated with Jacob rovings.

A technically challengingly large sphere, with the smallest possible opening. Made with merino wool, applied silk rovings and silk nepps.

Three imagined objects inspired by nature, hung from a recycled block of oak with pegs. Incorporating silk cord, dishcloth cotton and wool from a local rare breed sheep’s tail. Commissions are available, however these will not be duplicates.

Vivid orange linen, copper and brass tubes, petersham ribbon, gauze, with vintage wooden and glass buttons applied.

Natural African tree bark stretched over the hoop with excess remaining. Stitched seams worked at source and original holes used to thread vintage Bakelite needle. Collection of African horn or wooden beads applied.

Series of ten pieces using a printed Swedish furnishing cloth, which brought to my mind aerial landscapes. Embellished with many objects including, beads, ceramic and vintage glass buttons, bandage gauze and silk carrier rods.

A series of four pieces worked upon a cotton ground of small pocket woven cloth, which allows for the insertion of embroidery threads to be woven within. All framed and glazed.

This were my five contributions to a large “quilt” which was exhibited locally as part of our local council’s Kirklees Woven Festival in June 2023. Some of the images show the process of design and making.
